Javier Ameijeiras was born and raised in Miami, Florida, where he attended high school at the New World School of the Arts. After graduation in 2005 from the Maryland Institute College of Art as an illustration major, Javier was hired to do concept art for Step Up, A Summit Entertainment Film. This began his career as a concept illustrator in the film and entertainment industry, where he is now known for his diverse talents and his ability to combine 3-D modeling with digital and traditional media to create his illustrations. He has illustrated 6 TV shows and 13 major motion pictures, including: The Fighter, Wallstreet 2, Doubt, Taking Woodstock and Boardwalk Empire. He was a contributor to the Emmy Award-winning opening titles of HBO’s Bored to Death. Currently living in New York, Javier is working on the film adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, where his work as an illustrator and storyboard artist is helping to define the film's look, feel and sequential framing.
